I know I'm not alone in my love for the smell of books. New books, old books; each has a unique scent. For me, old books smell of the way wisdom comes with age and experience; New books have the scent of possibility and potential.
Apparently someone much less lazy than I has decided to bottle that smell into an "In The Library" perfume, available from Christopher Brosius's I Hate Perfume as part of his Experience Series.
On his website, Brosius says the scent is "a warm blend of English Novel, Russian & Moroccan Leather Bindings, Worn Cloth and a hint of Wood Polish".
But In The Library isn't the only scent honoring the literary scene. One of my favorite websites, The Dieline, recently posted about Ah&Oh Studio creation Scent Stories.
According to the Ah&Oh site, Scent Stories, the creators "found inspiration in the great, dark literature and distinctive, strong characters. We tried to describe the dark sides of men's nature with a line of scents named after famous writers".
The packing on these is fantastic and I am incredibly curious as to what their scent really is.
I'm not sure I would ever wear a scent like either of these, but I love the concept. Has anyone else heard of or spotted any literary-inspired perfumes?
