The kids I babysit for love reading. They bring home about 30 new books from the library each week. This week, one of my favorites was "Abe Lincoln Crosses A Creek: A Tall Thin Tale". According to the author, Deborah Hopkinson, this is a true story, based on Abe Lincoln's childhood friend's journal. Pretty cool stuff.
The reason I really love this book, though, was the typography used. The illustrations and drawn type by John Hendrix are fantastic.
See more photos from the book under the jump.
