Sometimes I forget that I probably shouldn't read funny things while I'm sitting at my desk at work. The newsroom is a pretty laid back place but that doesn't mean it isn't embarrassing to start laughing so hard I'm practically crying.
So if you're in a similar situation, maybe wait until you're home to read this hysterical piece by Sunny Chanel and her six-year-old daughter. Basically Sunny has her daughter view the cover of some of the most well-known classic novels and explain what she thinks the story must be about.
Here are a few of my favorites (Jane Eyre is definitely the best. Maybe just because that would have made Jane Eyre an interesting book):

Oh my. I would read all of the books she describes! I especially like her description of Wuthering Heights on the Babble post:
“It looks weird. I think this must be a book about a tree. I would not read a book about just a tree. And it looks like it’s a sad tree too since it has no friends.”
Poor sad tree.
This has been one of the best things I've read all month! These are hilarious. I love the way kids think and come up with anything, that to them makes perfect sense.
I agree with her observations on the Jane Eyre cover actually. The background reminds me of images of amine shaft. The clothing worn in the cover image is also suitable for digging. Using the correct images is so important.
Thoughtful blog, thanks for posting.
